Score caps:
Games are capped at 11 points.
Time caps:
Hard caps are at 7:40 and 9:00 for Summer League (1:10 minute games) and 1:45 and 3:30 (1:30 minute games) for Spring League.
When the horn blows for hard cap, finish the current point. If after that point the game is tied, play one more point to finish. If the game is not tied, play ends.
Timeouts:
Two timeouts per game. One per Half.
*Not using a timeout in the first half does not allow you to use two in the second.
Female to male ratio:
The standard ratio for a team will be 4 males and 3 females.
If numbers allow, captains can discuss a 3 male/4 female ratio. That would be determined by a gen-zone which is picked by the flip loser.
Both captains must be in agreement for the expected ratio to change.
In the event where one team has no women, or cannot meet the 4 male/3 female ratio, and no agreement can be made among captains, the team without women must play down. (Captains please try and work with each other to avoid this and keep the “Spirit of the Game.”
Spirit of the game:
“The integrity of Ultimate depends on each player’s responsibility to uphold the Spirit of the Game, and this responsibility should remain paramount.”
“Ultimate relies upon a spirit of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play. Protection of these vital elements serves to eliminate unsportsmanlike conduct from the Ultimate field. Such actions as taunting opposing players, dangerous aggression, belligerent intimidation, intentional infractions, or other ‘win-at-all-costs’ behavior are contrary to the Spirit of the Game and must be avoided by all players.” From Section 1. Introduction, item B.
Excerpts from the Official Rules of Ultimate
In short, be good sports, have good attitudes, treat each other well, and look after each other regardless of what team you are on.
